Welcome to Grand Island Eye Institute, P.C.! For over 50 years we have been specializing in medical and surgical care of eye disease and disorders. Our doctors’ years of medical training, experience, and continuing education ensure that you receive excellent, complete eye care in Grand Island and many surrounding communities. Jonas Proffitt, M.D. was the founder of Proffitt Eye Associates. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He received his surgery training in Houston, TX, and served the Grand Island and surrounding area in eye care for over 35 years.

Robert Proffitt, M.D., joined his father's eye surgery practice in 1977. Dr. Proffitt is a graduate of Hastings College and the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. His eye surgery training was through the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Dr. Proffitt specializes in cataract, lens implant, and laser surgeries.
